I...Steven,

I do not know of a copy in modern type. I have two different printings of The Sunday Service, but both in old type.

There are parts of The Sunday Service in modern type. For example the 1965 The Book of Worship (The Methodist Church, prior to the UMC) has Morning Prayer.

And there are out of print books like The Wesley Order of Common Prayer (1957, National Methodist Student Movement) which has services, but they are edited. For example, where Wesley removed the Venite from the BCP, they put it back in. - All in all, it's a good book to have. You might even agree with some of the editorial changes from Wesley back to the BCP, but it is not exactly The Sunday Service. (And, it, too is out of print.)

However, sometime soon(?), maybe this year, the next volume of Wesley's Works (Oxford/Bicentennial edition) will be released. It will be on worship, and I would guess it will include The Sunday Service in modern type.

Todd+Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5373833544766917458.post-39305021857273687762009-01-21T09:56:00.000-05:002009-01-21T09:56:00.000-05:00Amen.Todd,Do you know if there is a copy of John W...Amen.

Todd,

Do you know if there is a copy of John Wesley's Sunday Service for Methodists in North America in modern type. My copy is in old type, like this.

"THe grace of our Lord Jefus Chrift, and the love of God, and the fellowfhip of the Holy Ghoft, be with you all evermore. Amen."

From the Library of Methodist Classics.

Peace,

StevenStevenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16268770003656907848noreply@blogger.com
